GENERAL CHAIRS

  • Kexiang Wei,  Professor in School of Mechanical Engineering, Vice president of Hunan Institution of Engineering, Xiangtan, China. His research interests include mechanical system dynamics and vibration control, smart materials and structures, energy harvesting. 

  • Wenming Zhang, Professor in School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. His current research interests include nonlinear vibration and control, smart materials and structures, vibration energy harvesting, dynamics of fluid-structure interaction, rotor dynamics, and soft robotics.

  • Ronghua Du, Professor in School of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering, Changsha University of Science and Technology, Changsha, China. His researches focus on Intelligent transportation and vehicle-road cooperative technology, vehicle-road networking and vehicle safety control technology, traffic informatization technology. 

HONORARY CHAIRS

  • Chris Bowen, Professor, University of Bath, United Kingdom. He holds a BSC in Materials Science from the University of Bath (1986-1990) and a PhD in Ceramics from the University of Oxford (1990-1993). His research interests include Energy harvesting, piezoelectric materials and functional ceramics, and he has published more than 100 academic papers in Energy & Environmental Science and other journals with an H-index of 55.  He is currently a professor of materials science and a senior research Fellow at ERC, and director of the European Project NEMESIS (New Energy Materials Engineering Science and Integrated Systems).

  • Jinyue Yan, Professor, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Malardalen University (MDU), Sweden. Prof. Yan is editor-in-chief of the international journal, Applied Energy published by Elsevier (impact factor =9.746 in 2021), and also editor-in-chief of Handbook of Clean Energy Systems to be published by Wiley. His research interests include simulation and optimization of advanced energy systems incl. advanced power generation; climate change mitigation technologies and related issues in environment and policy; clean development mechanism (CDM) and renewable energy, especially in biomass energy, and fundamental engineering thermodynamics. 

  • Lei Zuo, Professor, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, United States. Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering. He has a long history of research in motion, vibration and thermoelectric energy recovery, vehicle dynamics and control, mechatronics design, intelligent materials and systems. He is one of the most internationally renowned experts and leaders in energy harvesting research.  He and his research team have made a series of outstanding research achievements in the field of energy harvesting research, and has won several American and international awards.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHAIR

  • Wei-Hsin Liao, Professor, Chinese university of Hongkong, China. Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Fellow of the British Physical Society. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, USA. His research interests include smart structures, vibration control, energy harvesting, mechatronics, and medical devices. His research has led to publications of over 300 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings, and 20 patents.
